Calendar Event Submission Instructions

Please submit events in the following format as text in an email or in an attached Word document. Do NOT send photos or other graphics files or PDFs. We regret that we cannot take listings directly from presenter websites (or from other media...).*

Our review assignments are based on items listed in our calendars as of the 20th of the preceding month; events not in the calendar on that date cannot be considered for review.

The basic info we must have is: day/date, who, what, where, when, how much, & a contact phone number.

We are willing to include names of principal artists and complete programs. Be sure to include ticket prices. A contact phone number to publish — for readers to call for more information — is required. Please provide a URL also, if available.

If you have changes for a POSTED LISTING, please send only the date & the changes or additions that are required.

The address for submissions — and for inquiries concerning them — is cvnc1@earthlink.net.

For samples of actual music listings, see http://www.cvnc.org/calendar/series/beyond/GreensboroSymphonyOrchestra.html.

For sample opera listings, see http://www.cvnc.org/calendar/series/triangle/CapitalOpera.html; note that the singers' names precede the character(s) they portray.

For sample dance listings, see http://www.cvnc.org/calendar/series/beyond/NCDanceTheatre.html; note that the composer of the ballet comes ahead of the title and identification of the choreographer follows the title.

For sample theatre listings, see http://www.cvnc.org/calendar/series/triangle/TIP.html; note that we'd welcome cast information in the same format we show in our opera listings.

For sample film listings, see http://www.cvnc.org/calendar/series/triangle/Cinema.html.

*Back when we started, working only classical music in the Triangle, we could manage calendar info sent in just about any format; but now, with more than 250 presenters providing items for publication, it is not possible to re-format press releases or email folks for missing information every time..., so... neglecting to follow our format may delay posting of your event.
