Performed by Raleigh Civic Chamber Orchestra (Dr. Peter Askim, conductor)

Titmus Theatre, 2241 E. Dunn Ave., Raleigh, NC 27695

Program

This concert juxtaposes Antonin Dvořák's evocative short-story-like “Legends” and the delicate children’s fairy tales of Maurice Ravel’s “Mother Goose Suite.” The program also includes “Night,” a composition by the orchestra’s new conductor, Peter Askim, which explores the ephemeral boundaries between twilight, dusk, and darkness and between consciousness and dream states.
