Program

The Duke Vespers Ensemble will present a range of music influenced by the Collegio Germanico – a Jesuit College – in Rome during the late 16th and early 17th century. Many famous composers had some connection to this great college, including Tomás Luis de Victoria, Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Giovanni Felice Sances, Marc-Antoine Charpentier, and Giocomo Carissimi. The concert repertoire will range from intimate sacred duets to motets and a Mass setting with large instrumental forces of brass and strings combined with the choir.
