Program

The Insanity of Mary Girard is a play by Lanie Robertson. Designed and directed by George Jack. The show runs about an hour and fifteen minutes without intermission.  Adult content and some strong language. In 1790 in Philadelphia, Stephen Girard is one of the wealthiest men in America. And he is in love. Only one person stands in his way – his wife Mary. Using his wealth and his connections, Stephen Girard places Mary in an asylum for the insane for the remaining twenty-five years of her life. The Insanity of Mary Girard is a true story about survival against impossible odds, about courage in the face of domestic abuse.
