Wells Fargo Playhouse at ImaginOn, 300 E. 7th Street, Charlotte, NC 28202
"Lenny and Jace are classmates. Despite apparently different personalities, they have one thing in common: they are both children of an alcoholic parent… This month, Children’s Theatre of Charlotte begins touring a play entitled Liars that addresses the realities of alcohol and substance abuse. ... Liars, written by award-winning playwright Dennis Foon, brings the devastating effects of alcoholism to center stage. The play illustrates the effects of addictive behavior over long periods of time and the lasting impact of dysfunctional parents on their children. The end of the play creates a poignant statement about personal choices and is an excellent springboard for follow-up discussions. The content of the production supports NC Essential Standards in Health Education for eighth graders. A free public performance will be held in the Wells Fargo Playhouse at ImaginOn on Tuesday, October 11, at 7:30 p.m."
