Influenced by the presidential election and subsequent events, I Promise draws on the imagery of rioting and rebellion to question how we define our tribe, what connects us, and what separates us. For ShaLeigh Comerford’s multicultural cast, these months have been fraught, and that tension emerges in visceral modern dance.
