Olivier Messiaen’s masterpiece Quartet for the End of Time
Composed at German prisoner of war camp Stalag VIIIA during World War II, the Quartet for the End of Time was written for piano, clarinet, violin and cello – the only instruments available to Messiaen while in captivity. This concert and event explores the historical and musical significance of this great work and celebrates the strength of the human spirit. Part of Four Seasons’ Chamber Music Dressed Down initiative, this concert will transform the listener’s experience with lively discussion from the stage and greater access to the performers during and after the performance.
Come dressed down – doors and bar open at 6:45PM; concert begins at 7:30pm.
