Performed by The Bechtler Ensemble
Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, 420 South Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC 28202
The Music and Museum season finale, “A Kaleidoscope Concert,” spotlights large ensembles and chamber groups. This non-stop, 45-minute format provides a rapid-fire musical spectrum from Bedřich Smetana to Patrick Williams.
“A Kaleidoscope Concert” is performed in celebration of the Bechtler Collection. Just as the Bechtler Collection captures a remarkable era of art history with works by some of the most important and influential figures of modernism, including Alexander Calder, Le Corbusier, Edgar Degas, Max Ernst, Alberto Giacometti, Barbara Hepworth, Jasper Johns, Paul Klee, Alfred Manessier, Joan Miró, Kenneth Noland, Pablo Picasso, Bridget Riley, Nicolas de Staël, Andy Warhol and a wealth of other 20th-century notables, the Music and Museums season finale is also designed to cover a broad spectrum of musical offerings and gives the audience a sampling of everything from intimate chamber music to contemporary works.
