Picture the joyous play of sparkling water, cascading from the 50 fountains in the grounds of the palace at Versailles. Each fountain is different, with vast sculptures depicting wild animals, gods and goddesses from myth and legend, and with everything from waterfalls to great arcs of water to reflecting pools. This same exuberant variety will be brought forth to listeners by the North Carolina Baroque Orchestra during its 10th Anniversary celebration concerts. Taking its name from the joyful chaconne Les fontaines de Versailles, by the French composer Michel-Richard de Lalande, the program will feature works from 18th century Italy, France and Germany.
$20 general, $15 students and seniors, free for kids
