Program

Is this just fantasy or is the Fayetteville Symphony playing Queen? We are excited to bring you Bohemian Rhapsody, a concert that will feature masterpieces from Queen, Brahms, Dvorak, and Smetana. Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 5 and Dvorak’s Slavonic Dance Op. 72, No. 2 will have you tapping your feet along to the music, and Queen’s "Bohemian Rhapsody" might have you singing along. The concert will conclude with Dvorak’s Cello Concerto featuring the Fayetteville Symphony’s own Nate Leyland as soloist. Dvorak’s Cello Concerto is one of the greatest concertos of all time, hi-lighting Dvorak’s gift for incorporating folk music into the richness of his orchestrations, juxtaposed against the rhapsodic lyricism and incredible expressive range of the cello. We can’t wait to see you for this very special performance!
