Program

An evening dedicated to the memory of EMF board member and Greensboro local, Dennis W. Askew. The night will feature faculty members Demondrae Thurman and Aaron Tindall playing selections of music by Anthony Barfield and Sergei Prokofiev, followed by selections from the EMF Euphonium-Tuba ensemble, and culminating in a performance with the North Carolina Brass Band led by Dr. Brian Meixner.

About the NC Brass Band:

The North Carolina Brass Band, under the direction of Brian Meixner, is a 28-member ensemble composed of many of the finest brass players and percussionists in the state. The band includes symphony orchestra musicians, leading soloists, chamber music professionals, jazz artists, brass and percussion professors at universities throughout the region, and highly sought-after freelance professionals. The diverse musicians of the NCBB have come together to create an ensemble as colorful and rich as the literature they perform.
